Local Dimming Technology

Local Dimming technology is a technology used to improve liquid crystal display (LCD) backlight systems.

In traditional LCD backlight systems, the backlight is usually evenly distributed behind the entire screen, which means that when black content is displayed, the backlight of the entire screen will be lit, causing the black display to be insufficiently deep, affecting contrast and black details Performance.

Geephon has conducted in-depth research on LDM technology and successfully applied it to high-brightness products. The maximum reach 4500 cd/m2, the max contrast ratio can reach 450000:1

Local Dimming technology divides the backlight into multiple areas, and each area can adjust the brightness and darkness independently. When there are dark and bright parts in the picture, only the bright areas will increase the brightness, while the dark areas will decrease the brightness, thereby achieving deeper blacks and higher contrast.

For example, let’s say you’re looking at an image of a burning match. The flame is glowing brightly, while the surrounding environment should be dark. Using Local Dimming technology, the backlight system can only light up the area where the flame is located and darken the surrounding area, which can present a deeper background and make the flame’s light stand out more.

GGreenEngery

Compared with traditional digital signage products, Geephon ECO-DIGITAL SIGNAGE products not only have ultra-high display brightness, but also ultra-low power consumption.

Using GGreenEnergy technology, energy savings of up to 45% can be achieved at the same brightness.
